Jamie Lipton

Jamie Lipton holds a bachelor's degree in music education and euphonium performance from Northwestern University where she studied with Rex Martin, and a master's degree in euphonium performance from the University of North Texas. She currently studies with Dr. Brian Bowman at UNT and is pursuing a doctoral degree in euphonium performance with concentrations in trombone, tuba, and conducting. Jamie has won many of the major euphonium competitions, including the 2006 Leonard Falcone Competition, the 2006 International Tuba and Euphonium Conference (ITEC) Competition, and the 2005 Potomac Festival Competition.
Jamie was recently invited to perform as a soloist and in ensembles at the 2006 ITEC in Denver, Colorado. As a member of the University of North Texas Graduate Euphonium Quartet, she has been a guest artist at the Texas Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference and the Sotto Voce Chamber Music Institute. The quartet is also featured on the recording "Echoes," on the Emeritus label. Jamie also appeared at the 2005 Texas Music Educators Association Conference and the 2006 Percussive Arts Society International Convention as a member of the UNT Wind Symphony, and can be heard on several of their recordings on the Klavier and GIA labels.
Jamie in high demand as a private instructor for area band programs, including Lewisville, Flower Mound, and Marcus High Schools, and she has served as Adjunct Instructor of Low Brass at Texas Woman's University since August of 2006. She is a proud native of the Chicago area.
