A decibel meter helps to teach a player about effective dynamics.  Use the DB meter to show you whether you are truly making a cresendo or change from mf to ff.  Its like the metronome for dynamics.

This unit has a great microphone and registers from silence all the way up to 130 db (good luck playing that loud)!
