Dr. Deanna Swoboda was recently appointed Assistant Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Arizona State University. For the past seven years, she has served on the distinguished faculty at Western Michigan University where she performed with the Western Brass Quintet, taught tuba and euphonium, developed music and entrepreneurship programs, and coached chamber music. In 2005, Deanna Swoboda and Lin Foulk formed TubaCOR, an ensemble dedicated to commissioning new works for tuba and horn.
Deanna has enjoyed a vibrant career as a performer, educator, and entrepreneur. As a performer she toured with the internationally recognized Dallas Brass and performed hundreds of solo recitals throughout the United States and Europe. In addition, Ms. Swoboda has performed and presented at the Deutche Tubaforum, the National Conservatory of Madrid, and the Porto Portugal Higher School for the Arts Conservatory. She is creator and performer of a band recruitment presentation and video called "Band Blast Off.” Deanna has appeared on CD recordings with The Western Brass Quintet, Dallas Brass, Salt River Brass Band, Belle Aire Brass. Her solo CD’s include, Deanna's Wonderland and Shamanic Journey.
Deanna Swoboda serves as President for the International Tuba Euphonium Association and is a Miraphone artist.
