Stephen Kunzer is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and is currently instructor of Tuba and Euphonium at Oklahoma State University. His performance resume as a freelance musician includes a variety of ensembles and styles including regional orchestras, big bands, brass bands, Broadway musicals, solo recitals, wind and chamber ensembles. He has shared the stage with some of the finest and most recognizable musicians in the world including Jennifer Hudson, Carole King, Arturo Sandoval, and Willie Nelson to name just a few. Stephen is in high-demand as a solo artist and clinician, performing recitals, giving lectures and masterclasses all over the world. His performances have been heard coast-to-coast in the United States, Thailand, and Korea, and he has performed at numerous Regional and International Music Conferences. Stephen also is a contributing writer for the International Tuba and Euphonium Association Journal.
Stephen holds a Masters of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music in Performance, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Arizona, with an emphasis in Music Education and Performance. Stephen has previously served on faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
