Dr. Daniel Brown is currently Artist-in-Residence of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas and a teaching artist and band director in Tucson Unified School District. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in tuba performance from the University of Arizona, a Master's of Music degree in tuba performance from the Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor's of Art degree in music from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Brown's teachers include Kelly Thomas, Velvet Brown, Daniel Burdick, and Sam Pilafian.

He has previously taught as a visiting professor at the Pennsylvania State University and a sabbatical replacement at the University of Arizona and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Brown has been a finalist and semi-finalist in multiple international competitions including the Leonard Falcone Festival Tuba Artist Competition and several different International Tuba Euphonium Conference [ITEC] competitions.

He is a member of Las Tubas de Tucson, winners of the 2010 ITEC Tuba-Euphonium Quartet Competition, and can be heard on the group's EP, "Going the Distance." He is a regular contributor to the International Tuba Euphonium Association Journal in the New Materials section.
