Black Rain features a contemporary sounding melodic writing and it was the first of Nilsen's solo works for euphonium.  This Norwegian composition has a great variety of styles and moods.  Ranging from very intense 16th note runs to subtle flutter tonguing .  A fine selection for an unaccompanied work.
