Horne - Tango Divertido (Octet version) - DOWNLOAD

"Tango Divertido for Octet" is a work for tuba and euphonium octet. Originally conceived as a work for solo euphonium with piano, this piece aims to highlight the soloistic capabilities of the different members of the ensemble. Inspired by the music of Astor Piazzolla, this work contains two distinct slow and fast sections. They are separated by a cadenza that is shared across the ensemble as most of the ensemble gets an opportunity to make a statement. The previously published version of this work is for euphonium quartet and was premiered at the 2019 International Tuba and Euphonium Conference by the North Texas Euphonium Quartet.
