Sparke, Philip - Aubade

A lush melodic work for the euphonium that makes use of the wonderful singing high register of the euphonium, Aubade captures Philip Sparke ’s superb listenable melodic and harmonic writing.  A lilting middle section with a flowing line for the euphonium adds an excellent change of pace before the recapitulation.  The difficulties lie in the endurance required to keep a beautiful sound through the work and especially on the final b-flat’.  Luckily there is an optional f’ that works fine.
