Dear Performer(s),
Blossom is one of the more unique tracks on The Human Element, my solo heavy metal album. It is the seventh track on the album and was the second single released from it on February 29, 2024. The piece continues the story set up by Reclamation, focusing on a future in which human civilization begins to blossom once again. I believe that, one day, humans will have devised a beautiful and technology-infused society that is at harmony with the natural world. We will grow gardens on high-rise rooftops, get our energy only from renewable sources, engage in responsible and regenerative farming practices, and so much more. I am very hopeful for the future, and this piece aims to capture that hope. The musical influences on this track vary widely, but the most salient one is my old band, Lake Mosaic. I played rhythm guitar with them from 2020-2022 and helped write much of their debut record, Perseverance. In Blossom, one can hear many of the same chord types, guitar tones, and rhythms that might be heard in a pop-punk song that we may have written. It’s a particularly fun piece to perform and should resonate with a wide audience.
Sincerely,
Evan Zegiel
